Internally, four pillars support the frescoed vault with an elliptical plan placed at the centre of the nave; another vault, also frescoed but circular in plan, is located above the presbytery. Si narra di svariate persone che beneficiarono di eventi miracolosi inspiegabili. Da qui inizi\u00f2 la venerazione dell'effige della Madonna. In seguito al prodigio del Quadro, fu realizzata una piccola Cappella sul lato nord della \u201cStanza del Miracolo\u201d che si trova al piano primo del fabbricato adiacente. Con ogni probabilit\u00e0 la \u201cStanza\u201d fu stralciata dalla casa di cui faceva parte e divenne luogo di culto, collegata da una scala interna direttamente con la nuova Cappella edificata. Numerose persone giungevano da borgate e paesi vicini, o anche da localit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 lontane per ottenere una Grazia o pi\u00f9 semplicemente per devozione. La chiesa attuale, risalente al 1782, \u00e8 a pianta ellittica con pareti portanti suddivise da lesene in varie specchiature. Le lesene di ordine corinzio composito sostengono la trabeazione con cornicione su cui \u00e8 impostata la cupola ellittica affrescata. Il presbiterio rialzato di 3 gradini \u00e8 a pianta rettangolare, con copertura a cupola ellissoidale, terminato dall'abside semicircolare con il relativo catino di raccordo. A destra del presbiterio sta l'accesso al disimpegno che porta a due ambienti rettangolari: la sagrestia e a fianco la prima cappella costruita subito dopo l'evento miracoloso da cui attraverso una scala si giunge alla stanza di Caterina Lupis. La forma della chiesa attuale \u00e8 ben leggibile anche esternamente. Following the miracle of the painting, a small chapel was built on the north side of the \u201cMiracle Room\u201d on the first floor of the adjacent building. In all likelihood, the \u201cRoom\u201d was acquired from the house to which it originally belonged, and it became a place of worship, connected to the newly-built chapel by means of an internal staircase. Many people arrived from neighbouring hamlets and villages, or even from further afield to receive graces or simply for worship. The present-day church, dating back to 1782, has an elliptical ground plan with load-bearing walls divided into rectangular areas by pilasters. The composite Corinthian-order pilasters support the entablature with a cornice from which the frescoed elliptical dome rises. The presbytery, raised by 3 steps, has a rectangular plan, with an ellipsoidal domed ceiling, and on one side the semicircular apse with its respective connecting vault. To the right of the presbytery, a door leads to a hallway which in turn opens onto two rectangular rooms: the sacristy, and next to this, the first chapel, built immediately after the miraculous event, from which a staircase leads to Caterina Lupis\u2019 room. Il Ponte Vecchio \u00e8 quello pi\u00f9 importante per la sua storia e per la sua posizione. Posto al centro del paese, si trova a pochi metri da altri due ponti in pietra che attraversano il torrente Enna. Quello pi\u00f9 antico \u00e8 ad una sola arcata e si trova infatti nella parte storica accanto al quattrocentesco palazzo Boselli ricco di saloni affrescati. Notevole la conformazione con due alte arcate a semicerchio, pilone centrale e spalle bene agganciate alla roccia dei margini del Brembo. Ben conservata la struttura in pietra, a grossi conci squadrati sulle arcate e sul pilone centrale e in pietrame nelle spalle. Anche il parapetto \u00e8 in lastre di pietra, di notevole pregio, che si sviluppano lungo tutto il perimetro del ponte. La pavimentazione \u00e8 in ciottoli e in lastroni per il passaggio centrale. La vista da sud lo mostra con alle spalle la mole neoclassica della chiesa parrocchiale di San Giovanni, innalzata nell'Ottocento sul precedente edificio di epoca medioevale. This has helped shape the town\u2019s conformation, with its narrow streets and long porticoes, but the features that add most to its appearance are the old bridges, with ancient houses bordering the rivers. Ponte Vecchio is the most important bridge, for its history and location. Sited at the centre of the village, it is just a few metres from two other stone bridges that cross the river Enna. The older bridge has just one arch and it is in fact located in the historical part of the town, alongside the 15th-century Palazzo Boselli with its frescoed halls. It has an unusual structure, with two high semi-circular arches, a central pier, and abutments anchored to the rock on either side of the river Brembo. The stone structure is well preserved, with large squared ashlars on the arches and central pier and in rubble masonry for the abutments. The parapet is also in finely-worked stone slabs, which run along the entire perimeter of the bridge. The paving is in cobblestones, with slabs for the central section.
